About the Artist
Alexandra Fields O'Neale (b. 1989) is a Miami-based multidisciplinary artist whose work examines the sociopolitical implications of identity, cultural erasure, and body politics. Working across photography, fiber, sound and installation, she creates immersive environments that draw on marginalized histories and collective imagining. Her practice recontextualizes identity and provides a space for collective memory, inviting viewers to consider how displacement and resistance shape contemporary identity.
She earned a degree in Culture and Media from The New School in New York. She has been awarded a Knight Arts Challenge Award (2021), an Oolite Ellies Creator Award (2022) and a Miami-Dade Individual Artist Grant (2025). O'Neale’s work has been featured at Black Box Gallery (2020), Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami (2024) and Collective 62 (2025).
